MARTHA BUTLER MASSEY

Martha B. Massey departed this life on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at the age of 83.  He was a native of Flora, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. Beloved and devoted wife of the late Willie Massey, Sr. Loving mother and grandmother of Willie, Jr. (Marjorie), Fredrick, and Kevin Massey, Terry (Matthew, Jr.) Wallace, Sarah (Leslie) Jones, Taisha (Terrence Hunter, Sr.) Massey, Lakeisha Massey, and the late Ray (Kathtreen) Massey. Daughter of the late Sarah and LaSalle Butler.  Due to the death of her mother when she was seven months old, Mrs. Massey was raised by her aunt Willie E. Butler.  Sister of the late Charlie Butler, Ruthie Vane, Lorean Hamilton, and Flora McQuitter. Devoted aunt of Earnestine, also survived by 23 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and neighbors.  Relatives, friends, and coworkers, of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Progressive Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Progressive Church 437 Cohen St. Marrero, LA on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time.
