MARILYN MARIE BENSON WALKER

Marilyn Marie Benson Walker (aka Maryna Walker) entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the age of 64. She was a native of Oma, MS and a resident of Bridge City, LA. Marilyn retired after more than 15 years of employment with LSU School of Nursing Environmental Service. Wife of the late Tommy Lee Walker. Former wife of Minister Antonio Banks.  Devoted mother of Lovella, Climeteen of Detroit, MI, and Erica Walker. Daughter of the late Dr. Joseph Richardson and Bertha Lee Richardson. Adopted daughter of the late Ira Benson and Aramandie Thomas Benson. Sister of Giselle Richardson (Robert) Murphy, Cher Richardson (Morris) Brooks of Dallas, TX, Joseph Derrick Richardson (Zenobia Moore), and the late Cordell Michael Richardson. Godmother of Ashley Houze. Fiancé of Ronald Reynolds. also survived by 10 grandchildren, 2 aunts, 1 nephew, and a host of nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Special thank you to Hospice Compassus Metairie, LA and care givers Kim Lewis, Cecily Lambert, and Louise Bessard. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Israelite Baptist Church, Austerlitz Street Baptist Church, New Home Ministries, Abundant Life Tabernacle, Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, and neighboring churches; employees of Touro, Ochsner, and LSU School of Nursing are invited to attend the funeral services at Gentilly Baptist Church 5141 Franklin Ave. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. at the above-named church. Interment: Evening Star Cemetery-Harvey, LA.
