Malaika Regina Williams passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the age of 45. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. She was a graduate of Xavier University Preparatory High School and continued her academic pursuits at Louisiana State University. Malaika earned her Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of New Orleans. She was a member of Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity. Malaika was also a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church and The City of Love. For many years, Malaika served as a History Teacher at West Jefferson High School with Jefferson Parish Schools, where she touched countless lives. Her commitment to her students extended far beyond the classroom. She served as Flag/Majorette Coach, Junior Class Sponsor, Senior Class Sponsor, Young Audience Coordinator for after-school and summer programs, and Homecoming Coordinator. Through these roles, she became a mentor, advocate, and guiding light for generations of students who looked up to her wisdom, warmth, and unwavering dedication. Malaika will be remembered for her radiant spirit, her dedication to education, her servant's heart, and the profound impact she made on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Devoted mother of Ramses Kaho Williams. Beloved daughter of Elvera B. Williams and the late Reginald K. Williams. Granddaughter of the late George and Ella V. Williams, Zeke and Alberta K. Brown, and Rev. M. B. Meacham. Cherished sister of Matthew W. Williams and Darryl (Brenda) Adams. Loving companion of Diriki “Rik” Guillory. Doing aunt of Alexis Colby (Ryan) Welch, Brandi (Jon) Carter, Malaysia Smith, and Elijah Smith. Niece of Carolyn Brown, Verna M. Brown, Ann Hamilton, Robin Brown, Norma Brown, Rodney (Garrilyn) Brown, Sr., Horace (Catherine) Brown, Sr., and the late Zeke, Jr., Charles, Thomas, Ed, and Theodore Brown, and Thomas Hamilton. Cousin of the late Gina Brown. Goddaughter of Celia Blanchard and Glenn Patrick White. Godmother of Alexis Colby Welch, Jordyn Mylia Ray, Aaliyah Kylie Daniels, Jarrod Collins, Jr., and Joy Collins. Malaika is also survived by her beloved dog, Panda Williams, and host of cousins, colleagues, students, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Macedonia Baptist Church, Boynton United Methodist Church, Empowerment Church NOLA, The City of Love, and all neighboring churches; faculty, staff, students, and alumni of West Jefferson High School and Young Audience of Louisiana After School Program; members of Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity and Xavier Prep Class of 1998 are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 6533 Acre Road, Marrero, LA on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 10:00a.m. Pastor T. A. Ranson,Sr., host pastor; Pastor Albert Mickel, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA.
