LYNELL BERNARD HAYNES, SR.

Lynell B. Hayes, Sr., age 68, entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. He was a native of Corpus Christi, Tx and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Lynell served his country as a member of the United States Army. He received several commendations for his bravery, including the National Defense Service Medal and Marksman Rifle. Lynell was employed as a cook. Beloved husband of Carolyn Jones Hayes. Loving father of Lynell Jones, Jr., Latundra Jones, Lashell L. Jones, Eric (Denise) Massey, Freddie Massey, Lenora Williams, Shante Massey (Curtis), Rene Chase, and Bryant White. Stepfather of Cleopatra (Honore Jr.) Clemons, Nathaniel (Jacqueline) Jones, and Sedrick Chase. Son of the late Fred Henry Hayes and Alice Aileen Riley Hayes Washington. Stepson of the late Richard Brady Washington. Grandson of the late Richard Sr. and Aileen Riley.  Brother of Christopher Hayes, Walter Riley Hayes, Denise Machelle Hayes (Jerome) Walter, Althea Eileen Hayes (Bernard), and the late Erayna Carroll McDonald, Alice Dorene McDonald, Valerie Kathryn Hayes, Fred Henry Hayes, Jr. and Anthony Allen Hayes. Lynell is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Fischer Community Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Fischer Community Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Avenue New Orleans, LA on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time.
