Lula Mae Wilson, a homemaker, entered peacefully into eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the age of 94. She was a native of Sunflower, MS and a resident of Westwego, LA. Lula was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of Rock of Ages Group Choir at Mt Olive Baptist Church. Beloved wife of the late James Wilson. Loving mother of Jacklyne Dorsey, Michelle G. Walker, Jerome Wilson, and Stanley Wilson. Daughter of the late Will Jones and Beatrice “MaPretty” Bailey. Sister of the late Joe Willie, Robert Lee, Hattie, Idella, Florence, and Margaret. Also cherishing her memories are 8 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Fischer Community Church, Mt. Olive Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Fischer Community Church, 1737 L. B. Landry Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Bishop James Nelson Brown, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church.
