LOUIS MEALANCON

Louis Mealancon departed this life at his residence on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the age of 67. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Louis was a graduate of West Jefferson High School and Los Angeles Bible College in Los Angeles, CA, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in theology. He was employed in various laborer positions in the city and county of Los Angeles for many years. Louis was an active minister with a skilled nursing home. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Maranata Church Community in Los Angeles, CA. After retiring he returned to the New Orleans area. Beloved son of the late Rev Leon and Doretha Mealancon. Brother of the late Augustine Ruffin, Walter Mealancon, and Doris Mealancon. Louis is also survived by 6 sisters, 6 brothers, 2 aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Progressive Church, Maranatha Community Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Progressive Church 437 Cohen St. Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 10:00a.m.  Apostle Sterling Mealancon officiating.
