LIONEL HAROLD JEMISON

Lionel Harold “Hoolah” Jemison, age 66, entered into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Thursday, September 22, 2022. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Harvey, LA. Lionel retired from Avondale Shipyard after 30 years as a welder. Loving father of Lionel (Lisa) Harrison, Lionel (Kerlyne) Antoine, Ronald (Debbie) Washington, Michael (Keioka) Washington, and Shondraka Antoine. Loving grandfather of Lanell, Ronell, and Lanae Antoine, Shebria Turner, Thomas Turner, III, Alanie Fairman (Michael) Meyers, Alexis Fairman (Leon) McGee, Elijah Taylor, Alexis Fascio, Emosha Antoine Butler, Jamal Antoine, and Jordan Butler, Te’Ondre Lionel-Eugene Harrison, and Destin Montgomery. Great grandfather of Mi’liyah Meyers, Denzell Fairman, and Aaliyah McGee. Son of the late Bernice Jemison Barconey. Grandson of the late Frank Jemison and Lillie Johnson Jemison Carter. Nephew of Dorothy Neal and the late Francis Jemison, Nellie Fluker, Deloris Burns, Bobbie, Joseph, and Monroe Carter. Lionel is also survived by a host of close family and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
