LINDA JANE RODGERS

Linda Jane Rodgers departed this life on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the age of 79. She was a native of Boothville, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Her faith and love for Christ lead her to become a nun at the age of 13 with the Sisters of the Holy Family. She decided at the age of 19 to leave the convent to pursue a career in early childhood education. Devoted mother of Georgina (Lawrence) Parker, Lolita (Roshon) Thompson, Joseph (Dekethia) Coston, and the late Al Coston. Loving grandmother of Tiffany (Shawn) Robinson, Emberlyn (Gemond) Coston, Gregory Davis, Jr., Narcissia and James Robinson, Alkayla and Kaymichelle Coston. Daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret Rodgers. Sister of Deborah Jones, Dedria Rodgers, Dave (Ruby) Rodgers, and the late Patsy and Letrice Rodgers, and Melvina Davis. Godmother of Jackie “Max” Davis, II, Frenchie Toussaint, Dianah Hobbs, also survived by 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Father Sidney O. Speaks III, celebrant. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m.; Recitation of the Rosary 8:45a.m.; Tribute to follow. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
