Lillian “Shorty” Hawkins entered into eternal rest at JoEllen Smith Living Center on Monday, July 26, 2021, at the age of 72. She was a native Natchez, MS and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Lillian was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and worked as a proud caregiver and nanny. Beloved mother of Marlon (Janine) Hawkins, Lynell Hawkins-Love (Cindy), Hope Hawkins, Michael and Jermaine Alexander. Grandmother of Marlon Hawkins, Jr., Faithe (Warren) Bernard, Marlene (Rod) Pickens, Joy and Jermaine (LaTasha) Hawkins, Kyvon Hawkins, Mikella Wonock, Aquila Dillon, Michael Alexander, Jr. and the late Kenisha Spencer. Stepmother of Lakita Alexander. Daughter of the late James White and Valeria Hawkins. Sister of Junius (Connie) Hawkins, Sr., and the late Letras Hawkins. Aunt of Kenedra and Henry Jackson, and the late Junius Hawkins, Jr. God mother of Chantel Smith and Kenda Dorsey. God sister of Cornell Simeon, Jr. special friend of Lizzie Robinson, Bobby Jean Wilson, and Sidney Byrd, also survived by 22 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officer, and members of First Emmanuel Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at First Emmanuel Baptist Church 1829 Carondelet St. New Orleans, LA on Friday August 6, 2021, at 11:00a.m. Dr. Charles J.
