LEISA VIRGINIA DORIS

Prophetess Leisa Virginia Doris transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, March 10, 2023, surrounded by love at her home in Marrero, LA at the age of 62. She was a native of Algiers, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Prophetess Leisa Doris was the co-founder and co-pastor of God Sent Ministries in Marrero, LA. She shared her gift with thousands, spending countless hours praying, prophesying, and spreading the word of God around the community and other states. She was always a bright light in a dark space. Her strong belief in God’s promises showcased a true believer’s heart. Prophetess Leisa devoted her time helping others by delivering meals, donations of clothing, community outreach programs and counseling services. She was a master in her craft of seamstressy. Beloved wife of the late Pastor Parnell M Doris Sr. Their marriage was the shining example of endless love and two heart beating as one. Devoted mother of Parnell M. Doris, Jr. and Arial J. Doris (Michael) Ledet. Loving grandmother of Jeremiah A. Doris, Mike’hia F. Doris, Fayveyan Thomas, Zechariah A. Doris Ledet, and the late Parnell Doris III. Daughter of the late Joe Carter and Geneva Camese. Sister Oliver Carter, Adolph Carter, Geneva Ruffin, Emile (Diane) Carter, and the late Emily (Camese) Manuel, Louella, Francis, Jimmy, Paul, and Frank Carter. Prophetess Leisa is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of God Sent Ministries, Fresh Faith Worship Center, Second Highway Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Highway Baptist Church, 1533 Haydel Dr. Marrero, LA on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 10:00a.m.  Rev. Joseph J. Johnson, host pastor; Pastor Kenner, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
