LATERRY JEROME HARPER

LaTerry Jerome Harper entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, October 18, 2021, at the age of 40. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. LaTerry was employed with Deanie’s Seafood and a former employee of The Red Maple. He will always be remembered for his love of cooking, singing, and spending time with family and friends. Beloved husband of George Dugar-Harper. Loving son of Steven Dews and Deneen Harper. Grandson of Dottie Carter and the late Willie Christian Harper, Willie Thomas Henry, and John Dews. Brother of Tamira Harper, Christopher Harper, Bernell Bradley (Chavonne Thompson), Shanice Alyson Dews, and Steven Dews. Nephew of the late Robin “Peewee” Jones, Antoinette Harper, Gene Henry, Vanessa Henry, William Henry, and Lawrence Charles Williams. Cousin of the late Lawrence Charles Williams. Godfather of Hanai Walker and Wa’niyah Mitchell. LaTerry is also survived by his devoted best friend Keya Francis, 8 nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Second Zion Baptist Church, 6520 Second Zion Ave. Marrero, LA on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church.
