Larry Michael Marrero, Sr. passed away at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the age of 75. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Larry dedicated many years of his life as a steel warehouse supervisor and an auto mechanic, where he was respected for his reliability, leadership, expertise, and commitment. Larry found joy in the simple things. He loved spending peaceful hours by the water fishing, listening to oldies but goodies music, and watching martial arts and western movies. Larry was a devoted family man, who found great happiness from the love he shared with his wife, children grandchildren, and family members. His presence, guidance, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.Beloved husband of 50 years to Carol S. Marrero. Devoted father of Tiffiny (Quyten) McGee-Bey, Larry Michael Marrero, Jr., and Tamara Rayford (Marvin, Sr.) Wroten. Cherished grandfather of Alexis, Kimara, Empress, and Kwynten McGee-Bey, Marvin C. Wroten, Jr. and Marlaija C. Wroten. Great grandfather of Aminnis Williams and Marvin “TM3” C. Wroten III. Son of the late William Marrero, Sr., Elenora Marrero, and Adele Inez Richardson, his aunt who cared for him after the early death of his mother. Loving brother of Bernadette (the late Lionel) Mansion, Henrietta (Frank) Washington, and the late William, Jr. John, and Louis Marrero, Adele Palmer, Nellie Washington, Elenora Baham, and Laura Mene. Larry is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners, of All Saints Catholic Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Catholic Church, 1441 Teche Street, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:30a.m. until service time at the church.
