KIMBERLY ANN DUKES

Kimberly Ann Scott Dukes, age 69, succumbed to her illness and passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026, with her loving husband by her side. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Kimberly was a 1975 graduate of John McDonogh High School and later completed studies in Business Administration at Delgado Community College in 1978. Her most celebrated degree was in the field of Christian Education in 2002 from the Baptist Theological Seminary. She was employed for many years at Charity Hospital of New Orleans, and in later years became the Administrative Assistant to Pastor Edward Joseph III, at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church in Marrero, LA. Before her health limited her ability, Kimberly enjoyed serving church ministries, sewing, creating jewelry, and showcasing her beloved puppet ministry team. Kimberly’s generous spirit, wisdom, creativity, and devotion to family and faith will remain a lasting part of her legacy. Beloved wife of 46 years to Wayne Dukes. Devoted mother of Dwayne Wayne Dukes. Doting grandmother of Xiulan Dukes. Daughter of the late Frank Scott and Dolores Scott McDuffie. Granddaughter of the late Robert Scott and Bessie Samuels Jackson. Loving sister of Manya Scott McGuffie of Charlotte, NC, Patricia (Lester) Bloom, Regina Scott, Donna Johnson, Travis Crandel (Christal) of Charlotte, NC, and the late Sharon Scott Glass. Daughter-in-law of the late Ernest and Pearl Dukes. Sister-in-law of Linda Harmon of Union, MS, Glenda (Charles) Cleveland of Lansing, IL, Gary Dukes of Madison, MS, and the late Dara Miller and Evelyn Dukes. Kimberly is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Faith Is The Victory Christian Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Fatih Is The Victory Christian Church, 3145 Alen Korman Blvd. Harvey, LA on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 11:00a.m. Pastor Thomas Glover, Jr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery, Westwego, LA.
