KAREN BEATRICE TRUDEAUX

Karen Beatrice Trudeaux entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at the age of 72. She was a native of Gretna, LA (Jonestown Community) and a resident of Marrero, LA. Karen was a graduate of L. B. Landry High School and attended Southern University at New Orleans. She was a recipient of Good Housekeeping Award and participant of the “The Silver Spoon” in the Crescent City Classic Race.  Karen was a retired CEO/Owner of Letters Etc. Loving mother of Dawn Gaicelle Garrison, Donald Alexander Winchester, Jr., and Jeremy Lawrence Winchester.  Bonus mother of Glinda Monroe.Foster mother of David Charles Brown. Daughter of Shirley Mae Tross Jones and the late Leon Trudeaux. Stepdaughter of the late Daniel Jones and Ruth Petty Trudeaux. Granddaughter of the late Rev. Wilbert Tross, Sr. and O’Lillian Divens Tross. Bonus grandmother of the late Theodore Monroe, III. Sister of Michael (Donna) Hartman. Aunt of the late Ryan Michael Hartman. Nieces of Ruth Verlyn Tross Davis, Doris Ann Tross Vance, Shahidah Tross Nuriddin, Curtis Davis, Herbert Cole, and the late Rev. Wilbert Tross, Jr. (her godfather), Ernest Tross, Sr., Evelyn Kearns, Beatrice Tennyson, Dovado Smith, and Helen T. Cole. Devoted friend and aunt through marriage Mamie Harvey-Tross, also survived by 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of New Hope Baptist Church of Gretna, St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church of Marrero, and neighboring churches; employees of Rivers Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation Center are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Monday, August 21, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
