JOYCE CHARLES CARTER

Joyce Charles Carter entered eternal rest at her residence on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the age of 87. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Joyce was a former employee with the Metropolitan Development Center (Belle Chasse State School) for many years. She was a faithful member of the usher board. Joyce had a passion for fashion, and she loved preparing dishes for anyone who desired a home cooked meal. Beloved wife of the late David Carter. Loving mother of Mark (Easter) Carter and Alvin Ruffin. Daughter of the late Ben Charles, Sr. and Fennie Charles. Sister of Dallas, Ferdinand (Doris), Stanley (Favette), Ronald (Alece), Felton, Patricia, and the late Ben Charles, Jr., Rhodie Branner, and Gertrude Baker. Daughter in law of the late Willie and Fannie Carter, also survived by 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Second Baptist Church, 2836 Sullen Place New Orleans, LA on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10: 00a.m. Pastor Andre Sigler officiating.
