JOSIAH LENELL BRACKENS

Josiah Lenell Brackens, age 13, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026. He was native of Marrero, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. He was a student at Martin Behrman Charter School. Josiah favorite bible scripture was Psalm 31:13, Beloved son of Jonathan Lucas and Darrineka Brackens. Stepson of Damon Gumbs and Lenyla Rollins. Grandson of Nicole Sykes, Terry Felo, Serina Lucas, and Richard Watson. Brother of Lionel Goffner, Khalil Goffner, Damon Gumbs, Damoni Gumbs, Prince Lucas, Nasir Lucas, Avir Lucas, Johria Phillips, Johriyan Phillips, Heiress Lucas, and the late Johnathan L. Brackens. Uncle of the late Terrence D. Felo, Jr., Nephew of the late Stephanie M. Brackens, also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches; faculty, staff and students of Martin Behrman Charter School are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Mt. Olive Baptist Church 1701 Estalote Ave. Harvey, LA on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Ricky Johnson, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
