JOSEPH RAYMOND STEIB, SR.

Joseph Raymond Steib, Sr., age 79, transitioned peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Saturday, January 31, 2026. He was a native of Vacherie, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Joseph served his country as a proud member of the United States Army. He retired from Avondale Shipyard after many years of dedicated service as a supervisor. Beloved husband of the late Elaine Weber Steib. Devoted father of the late Joseph Raymond Steib, Jr. Loving grandfather of Janai Nicole Steib and Kyla Lynn Steib. Great grandfather of Kaiden Steib. Son of the late Hilton and Wilborine Dumas Steib. Grandson of the late Paul and Rose Dumas, Sylvester Steib, Sr. and Amy Oubre. Brother of Vincent Steib, Sr., Hilton Steib, Jr. Joseph Preston Steib, Sr., Rita Steib Charles, Christine Steib Fletcher, and the late Hamilton Steib. Uncle of the late Latricia Woods. Son-in-law of the late Sidney J. Weber, Sr. and Permilla C. Weber. Brother-in-law of the late Angela Steib. Also cherishing his memories are his godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd, Marrero, LA on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Father Sidney Speaks, celebrant.
