JOHN YOUNG III

John Young III, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Palm Sunday, March 24, 2024. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. John was a graduate of Joseph S. Clark Sr. High School and enlisted in the United Staes Air Force directly after graduation. He served 21 years in the military and retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. After completing his military career, John worked for the United States Postal Service for 21 years before retiring again. Devoted husband of Jean R. Young. Loving father of Gregory P. Young, Eric A. Young, Darrin (Carlene) Young, Tanya M. Young, Carolyn Young, Jason C. Young, and the late John Young IV. Son of the late John Young, Jr. and Nellie Mae Rogers Young Leach. Stepson of the late James L. Leach. Brother of the late Douglas Leach Carolyn L. (Alfred) Williams, and Loretta Y. (James) Wilson. John is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Though John is no longer with us, his presence will never be forgotten. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother, son, and friend. When we think of him, we will always remember the many ways in which he made our lives so much better. He will dearly be missed by all his family, friends, and loved ones. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Raymond & St. Leo the Great Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Raymond & St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2916 Paris Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
