John Monroe Taylor, Sr. entered into eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center Jefferson Highway on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the age of 76. He was a native of Woodville, MS and a resident of Avondale, LA. He was a graduate of Wilkinson County High School in Woodville MS. “Bubba”, as he was affectionately known by family and friends was self-employed. Beloved husband of Margaret Carter Taylor. Loving father of John Taylor, Jr. Grandfather of Bonisha Robertson. Son of the late Herman and Katherine Taylor. Brother of Wayne Collins, and the late Josephine Taylor, Mary Freeman, Gustain Liberty, and Herman Taylor, Jr. Brother-in-law of Martha C. (Johnny) Ware. Godfather of Stephanie (Lindsay) McPipe. Preceded in death by his grandparents, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1419 4th Street Westwego, LA, on Friday, March 3, 2023, at 11:00a.m. Rev. Woodrow Hayden, Host Pastor, / Rev. Dr. Melvin Jones officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above-named church.
