John Willis Smith entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at the age of 76. He was a native of Utica, MS and a resident of Harvey, LA. John was a retired welder and tacker with Geosource Shipyard. Beloved husband of the late Laura Smith. Loving father of John C. Smith, Terrence Smith, Brian Joseph, and Kevin Thomas Turner. Son of the late Rev. M. C. Smith and Murtis Hughes Smith. Brother of Serina Smith Haynes, and the late Eddie V. Poole and Vanessa Smith Anderson. John is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
