John J. Neale, age 83, transitioned peacefully into eternal rest surrounded by family on Thursday, February 24, 2022. He was a native of the island of Montserrat in the Caribbean and a resident of Marrero, LA for over 47 years. John was educated in the Montserrat Public School System. He was a former employee of Boh Brother and Air Logistics Helicopter Company. John was a lover of Soca and Calypso music and enjoyed working around his home. He will be remembered for his willingness to help or offer a lending hand when necessary. Beloved husband of the late Sarah Jane Neale. Loving father of Thelma Greenaway of Virginia, Yvonne Riley of Georgia, Eulalie (Rev. Reginald) Nicholas, Herman Neale, Ethel Neale of Georgia, Eunice Hadley of Texas, and the late Thomas and Peter Riley. Cherished grandfather of Merrill (Karese) Brouillette, Jr., Brandon (Vicki) Brouillette, Sr., Reginald Nicholas, Jr., LaDonna (the late Corrie) Robinson, Jeremy (Erica) Nicholas, Carena Thompson, Carey Thompson, Carlisle Riley, Yushica Riley, Brianna (Jermaine) Ellis, Bianca (Ezekiel) Cobb, David Webb, Samone Sullivan, Brandon Carter, Alexandria Greenleaf, Makalya Neale, Jasmine Crest, Lenore, Jackie, Bernice, Joseph, and Melrose Greenway, Katie Riley, Jermaine Fenton, Kenesha and Tracey David. Son of the late Ellen (Nellie) Neale and John Dowdy. Brother of the late Anthony Neale, Manning, and Peter Dowdy. John is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 3643 Aurora Dr. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
