JOE SMITH

Joe Smith entered eternal rest at his residence on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the age of 85. He was a native of Orrville, AL and a resident of Avondale, LA. Joe was a retired pipefitter and welder. Beloved husband of Mayola Smith. Loving father of Minnie Smith and the late Michael Anthony Smith. Son of the late Willie P. Smith, Sr. and Eloise Sanders. Brother of Mack (Edith) Smith, and the late Minnie Mitchell, Josephine Carter, Willie P. Smith, Jr., and Lawrence Smith. Brother in law of Doris Smith, Furman Shaw, Sr., and Robert Shaw, also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Fresh Start Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Fresh Start Baptist Church, 1542 Pailet St. Harvey, LA on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Bishop Sean Elder officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
