JOANNIE DENISE WILKINSON

Joannie Denise Wilkerson enter peacefully into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at the age of 62. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. She was employed as a hairstylist, and a former employee of Fox Photos and Cox Cable. She also studied to become a certified nursing assistant. Devoted mother of Dermot Jefferson, Jr., Irian Wilkinson, Edward Bowman (Letoya), Jirian Bowman (Demond), Brett Larce, and Brettonio Larce. Loving grandmother of Jasmyn, Dermot, III, Dillon Dawson, Demond, Jr., Eamon, Dallas, Damara, Dannee, Dreaux, Edrianna, Zy’Kiya, Ed’Mara, and Ed’jira. Daughter of Douglas Wilkerson and Louise Johnson Wilkerson. Sister of Michelle, Douglas, and the late Tammy Wilkerson. Best friend of Shelia Lacayo; also survived by host 15 great grandchildren, and a host of special children, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of life at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe Street Gretna, LA on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Rev. Chris R. Bailey of Glory Temple Church of Harvey, LA, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time. Interment: Will be Private.
