JIMMIE F. JOHNSON

Jimmie Frankie Johnson departed this earth on Friday, December 29, 2023, surrounded by family and friends at the age of 75. He was a native of Ferriday, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Jimmie was a graduate of Carver High School Class of 1965. After graduation he joined the U. S. Army and received numerous commendations.  While in the Military, he attended the University of Houston, pursuing a degree in Law & Business Administration and received his Master Electrician Certification. “Frankie”, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was employed as an electrician for many years. Loving husband of 54 years to Dolorise Johnson. Father of Kenneth (Darlene), Brian (Nyra), Donnell (Amanda), Michael, Christopher (Leshawna), and Joshua (Shawna). Grandfather of Kentashia, Kenneth Jr, Kennedi, Brian, Therese, Jada, Mariah, Allen- Michael, Christiana, Christopher II, Josh Shawn, Joshua Jr., and the late   Keandra Long Johnson. Great grandfather of Za’Kai, Brain Jr, and Brielle.  Son-in-law Lena Taylor. Preceded in death by his father in law and 1 brother in  law, also survived by 5 brothers in law, 2 sisters in law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to whom he considered family. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Westwego Church of God in Christ, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Westwego Church of God in Christ 120 Louisiana St Westwego, LA on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Brian Walker, Sr. Officiating / Pastor Leslie Steward Host Pastor.
