JERRY SR. AND CONNIE HOLMES

Jerry Milton Holmes, Sr. gained his wings after a brief illness on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at the age of 72. He was a native of McComb, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. Jerry was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. He retired from the Grain Elevator in St. John the Baptist Parish after over 30 years of service. Several weeks later, on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at West Jefferson Medical Center his beloved wife Connie Marie Petty Holmes joined him in eternity at the age of 68. She was a native of Crown Point, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Connie was a 1972 graduate of L. W. Higgins High School and a retired private duty nurse.  Devoted parents of Corey M Holmes. Loving father and stepmother of Cornell Holmes, Sr., Jacinta M. Williams, and Jerry M. Holmes, Jr. Their memories will live in the hearts of their brothers and sisters, Mildred Jean Stewart, James Jackson, Jerry’s siblings; Charmaine (Peter) Burney, Eartha (Craig) Palmer, Leatrice (Kevin) Wells, Lisa (Roland) Brown, Bernetta Petty, Joseph, Jr. and Kenzith Petty, Connie’s siblings. Both were preceded in death by their parents Luscious Milton, Pinkie Mae Holmes, John, Sr., and Emelda Petty. Jerry’s sisters Irma Nell Barnes, Gloria Jean Perkins, and Marilyn C. Jackson also preceded him in death, as did Connie’s siblings, Cynthia P. Moss, Mona Canselo, and Alex Petty. Also left to cherish their memories are their daughters-in-law Dawn Holmes, Jametta Holmes, Whitney Williams, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebrations at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Evangelist Eric Wells of The House of Grace, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
