JERRY PHILLIPS

Jerry Phillips entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday January 1, 2023, at the age of 76. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Jerry was educated in the Jefferson Parish School System. Bow Legs, as he was affectionately called by family and friends was a retired employee with West Jefferson Medical Center as a porter for over 35 years. Beloved son of the late Walter Phillips Sr. and Ida Gage Phillips. Loving brother of Harriet P. Gaines, Aurthur Phillips, and the late Ida Mae Williams, Walter Phillips, Jr., Joseph Phillips, Emanuel Phillips, Charles Phillips, and Jerry Phillips. Devoted uncle of Cassandra “Noonie”  Williams, and Yvette Williams, who were also his caregivers. Brother-in-law of Robert Williams, and the late Thelma Phillips, and Henry Roussell, Jr., also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Ernest Weber officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above-named parlor. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
