JAMES MORTON, JR.

James Morton, Jr. entered into eternal rest at his residence on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at the age of 84. He was a native of Vacherie, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. James was a retired paint foreman of Avondale Shipyard. He was a member of Masonic Lodge: Good Luck #17. Beloved husband of Marie Morton. Devoted father of Carl Mitchell. Loving grandfather of Jordan Mitchell, Ky Mitchell, and Luke Mitchell. Son of the late James Morton, Sr. and Aleena Morton-Dumas. Brother of Donald Morton and Betty Nelson; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Little Zion Baptist Church #3 and all neighboring churches; members of Masonic Lodge: Good Luck #17 are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Little Zion Baptist Church #3 on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Norman Smith, III officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church.
