JAMES MELANCON, SR.

James Melancon, Sr, age 83, entered into eternal rest at Wynhoven Health Care Center on Saturday, December 2, 2023. He was a native of Donaldsonville, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. James retired from CSX Railroad, after many years of service as a dedicated Crane Operator. Beloved husband of Elizabeth Melancon. Loving father of Deborah Washington, James Melancon, Jr., George Melancon, and Jaime Melancon. Son of the late George and Beatice Melancon. Brother of Doris Payne Melancon and the late Geraldine, Hilda, Ruby, Margie, George, Gerald, and Michael. Also cherishing his memories are 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 10:00a.m.  Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
