JAMES HYMES, JR.

James Hymes, Jr., peacefully departed this life at his residence on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Beloved son of the late James Hymes, Sr. and Shirley Holmes. James was baptized at an early age and raised in Christian faith, which gave him a foundation of love, strength, and guidance throughout his life. He was a devoted father, grandfather, nephew, cousin, brother, and friend. James valued family above all else and was always there to lend a hand, share laughter, or simply enjoy the company of those he loved. His easygoing nature and kind heart earned him the nickname “Sleep,” which so many affectionately called him. His presence brought joy to those around him, and his memory will forever be cherished. James will be remembered for his love for family and the joy he brought to all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
