JAMES CALVIN BLACK

James Calvin Black gained his wings on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the age of 77. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. James was a retired custodian with the Jefferson Parish School  System. Beloved husband of Lillian A. Black for over 44 years. Loving father of Darryl Brown, Veronica Paige, Sharla Black, Tammy Black, and Yashica (Earl) Gooden. Stepfather of Cammilla Rollins and Cyrel Hester. Son of the late Rev. Abraham Black, Sr. and Ophelia Black. Brother of Juanita Phillips, Abraham (Iris) Black, Jr., and the late Mauri Lynn Sennette, also survived by 10 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Holy Trinity Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral services at Holy Trinity Baptist Church 1727 Erie St. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
