JACQUELYN ANN WILLIAMS

Jacquelyn Ann “Jay” Williams, age 75, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Jacquelyn was educated in the Orleans Parish Public School System. “Jay”, as she was affectionately known to family and friends, had a strong belief in education and a deep love for working with children, which led her to be gainfully employed with Akhigbe Daycare in Algiers, LA for many years. As matriarch of the Williams family, she was known as the glue that held everyone together. Jay enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, arts and crafts, and telling jokes. She also had a special love for Facebook, believing if it wasn’t on Facebook, it wasn’t true. Devoted mother of Travis Williams, Mark Williams, Nicole Williams (Darryl Diggs), Thyra Williams, and the late Shelby and Kori Williams. Daughter of the late George Williams, Sr. and Thyra Clarke Williams Allen. Beloved sister of George Williams, Jr. Troy Allen, Monica Williams, Carla Williams, and the late Thaddeus, Sr., Carl, and Shelia Williams. Mother-in-law of the late Sabrina Gillam Williams. Also cherishing her memories are 25 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 aunt, 1 uncle, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe Street, Gretna, LA on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
