J C McCANN

J. C. McCann entered eternal rest at University Medical Center on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the age of 83. He was a native of Shubuta, MS and a resident of Avondale, LA. J. C. was a retired commercial truck driver with Reily Coffee Co. Beloved husband of the late Ollie Mae Arrington McCann. Devoted father of Tammy (James) Jones, Linda (Alandus) Scott, Karen (Ray) Ruffin, Kevin McCann, Angelia McCann, Michelle McCann, Barbara Ann (Crawford) Boyd, and the late Benjamin McCann, and Beverly McCann. Grandfather of the late Calvin Warner. Son of the late James McCann, Sr. and Mae Bell Carter McCann. Grandson of the late Neal Carter, Lou Carter, Willis McCann, and Elsas Bounds. Brother of the late James McCann, Jr., Marshall McCann, Pauline Orange, Mary Lou Mc Cann, Arlene Watts, Lessie Mae Shoemaker, Irene Ellis, Lillie Fikes, and Mae Velma McCann. J. C. is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Mount Calvary International Worship Center, and neighboring churches are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Mount Calvary International Worship Center, 1600 Westwood Drive, Marrero, LA, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 5:30p.m. until 7:00p.m. Apostle Terry Gullage, Sr. officiating.
