ISADORE ALVIN BENN

Isadore Alvin Benn entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at the age of 80. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Isadore was a graduate of L.B. Landry Class of 1962 and attended Mississippi Valley State University.  "Bocat" and "Poppie", as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was the owner of Veterans Taxicab Company. Beloved husband of Janet Jackson Benn. Loving father of Monique Thraychelle Benn, Kim Ronique Benn, and Yettia Bernice Benn-(Keith, Sr.) Jasmine. Grandfather of B Benn Dyer, Varrick Dyer, Jr., Peyton Jasmine, Rhyas Muse, Reagan Muse, Parker Jasmine, and Keith Jasmine, Jr. Son of the late Clarence Benn, Sr., and Geneva Charles-Benn. Grandson of the late Isaac Benn and Stella McDonald, Lawrence, Sr., and Sarah Charles. Brother of Theries Benn, Kearly Benn, Aubrey Benn, Carmen Benn, Farrell Benn, Dalvin Benn, Judith Benn-Byes, and the late Rufus Benn, Sr., Clarence Benn, Jr., Darrell Benn, Michael “Rudy” Benn, Sarah Benn-Benjamin, and Gaynell Jennifer Benn, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members First Emanuel Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at First Emanuel Baptist Church 1829 Carondelet St.  New Orleans, LA on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Charles Southall, III, Host Pastor - Pastor Bruce Hinton officiating.  Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time at the above-named church.
