Inez Cullier Payadue, age 92, transitioned from her earthly life at her residence on Friday, April 26, 2025. She was a native and resident of Marrero, LA. “Nez”, as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was educated at Blessed Sacrament Elementary School. She entered the workforce and was employed at Martin’s Seafood in Westwego, and as a housekeeper for several families for many years. Inez was an active parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Marrero, and was one of the first female ushers, who later served as head usher for several years. She was also a member of Good Shepherd Ministry and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Peter Claver Court #267. Known for her many talents in the kitchen, she enjoyed making pecan candy, preserves, cakes, eggnog, and pickled okra, to just name a few. Inez will be remembered as an “unconventional and spicy woman that marched to the beat of her own drum” bringing color and warmth to every room. Her life was painted with a rich brush, from her faith and family to her hobbies and service. Beloved wife of 68 years to the late Rhionell Payadue, Sr. Devoted mother of Patricia (James) Metoyer, Denise (Byron) Adams, Collette (Gerald) Duckett, Rhionell (Kathleen) Payadue, Jr., and the late Warren Payadue. Loving grandmother of Javits Metoyer, Bronis (James) Wilson, Andree’ (Victor) Houston, Rhionell “Trey” Payadue III, Courtney Robinson, Megan (Antonio) James, Kimberly Robinson, Jade Payadue (Jamaal) Sutherland, and Gerald Duckett, Jr. Doting great grandmother of Christopher, Madissen, Blythe, Journey, Nathaniel, Seraphina, Victoria, Maverick, Jett, Jaylan, Jenavieve, January, and Jihari. Daughter of the late Julian “Jules” and Annie Cullier. Sister of Yvonne C. Scieneaux and the late Irman C. Wilson, Rosalie C. Williams, Henry, Anthony, and Raymond Cullier. Sister-in-law of Delores Cullier; she was preceded in death by a host of brothers and sisters-in-law. Also cherishing her memories are her godchildren, Deanna Wilson, Erica Riley, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Father Sidney Speaks, celebrant. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m.; Recitation of Rosary 8:45a.m.; Tribute to follow. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
