Hilda Dixon Crosby, age 96, transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home on Friday, May 22, 2026, at her daughter’s residence. She was a native of Harvey, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Hilda was a graduate of Grambling State University, and a retired educator with the Jefferson Parish Public School System. She taught at Catherine Strehle, Elm Grove and Ames Elementary Schools. Hilda was a faithful member of Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church, actively servicing as an usher for over 40 years. She was also the first director of the Evening Star Keith Stewman Scholarship. Beloved wife of the late Henry R. “Coach” Crosby, Jr. Devoted mother of Claudette C. Morris, Cornel Crosby, and the late Deborah Ann Crosby Drake. Loving grandmother of Trishawn Jones, Shauntele Sandifer, Kwesi Drake, Sr. and Kwahn Drake. Daughter of the late Robert Dixon, Sr. and Jane Joseph Dixon. Sister of Curtis Dixon and the late Lavinia Dixon, Helen Dixon Ford, Lawrence Dixon, Sr., Robert Dixon, Jr., Charles Dixon, Sr., and Joseph Humphrey, Sr. Also cherishing her memories are 4 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church, 817 Grefer Street, Harvey, LA on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Keith Paul Stewman, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
