HERBERT JACK GIVENS

Herbert Jack Givens entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the age of 82. He was a native of Natchez, MS and a resident of Avondale, LA. Herbert was a retired truck driver and, he was employed with several different companies Matlack, Airco, Chemical, and D&M Company. Beloved husband of Iris Edgerson Givens. Loving father of Herbert Givens, Jr., Anita Givens, Herbert (Essie) Wright, Cynthia (Gerald) Washington, Tina ((Donald) Williams, Kendrick Williams, and the late Donald Givens. Stepfather of Deyonne Williams. Son of the late Lydia Givens Miles and Miles Woodfolk. Brother of the late Samuel Miles, Franklin Miles, Clinton Miles, Thomas Miles, Levi Miles, Barbara Brown, Mattie Williams, and Donna Miles, also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second St. John Baptist Church are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the parlor.
