HENRY MARTIN, SR.

Henry Martin, Sr. entered eternal rest on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the age of 83. He was a native and resident of Marrero, LA. Henry served his country in the United States Army for 10 years as a PVTE2 (P), from which he received the Army Occupation Medal (Berlin) Marksman (Rifle M-14) commendations. He was a former employee with Gerber Scientific, as a Senior Technician for 15 years and a Mortician with Henry L. Fuqua Funeral Home. Henry was a member of the Connecticut American Legion Post 142, and Hope well Baptist Church in Hartford, CT. Loving father of Glenda M. Martin, Henry Martin, Jr., Lucy A. Martin, Geraldine F. Martin, and Barbara B. Martin. Son of the late Earl Martin, Sr. and Lucy Carter Martin. Brother of Larry Martin, Alvin Martin, Esther M. Lewis, Irma M. Cole, Ruth M. Paynes, Barbara M. Blain, and the late James Martin, Earl Martin, Jr., and Willie Martin, Sr. Father-in-law of Wanda Martin. Former husband of Joyce Mae Rose and Teresa Martin. Also cherishing his memories are 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Homegoing Celebration at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 10:30a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
