HENRY JACKSON, JR.

Henry Jackson, Jr., age 80, entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Sunday, July 23, 2023. He was a native of Thibodaux, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Henry was a graduate of Lincoln High School, and he attended Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO). He later attended and graduated from Union Baptist Theological Seminary. Henry retired after 27 years as a Truck Driver II with the Jefferson Parish Drainage Department. He was also an Associate Minister at Little Zion Baptist Church #3 in Marrero, LA. Beloved husband of the late Carol Jackson. Devoted father of Deandra Jackson, Henry Jackson, Jermain Jackson, and Brian Jackson. Loving grandfather of Ja’tyra Summers, Jermain Jackson, Jr., Anthony, and Aiden Ruiz. Son of the late Henry Jackson, Sr. and Dora Sewyer. Brother of Margarite Robinson, Mercedees Robinson, and the late Nolan Jackson.  Also cherishing his memories are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Little Zion Baptist Church #3 and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Little Zion Baptist Church #3, 441 Wilson Street Marrero, LA on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Norman Smith III, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
