HAZEL ANN ROUSSELL

Hazel Ann Roussell peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the age of 84. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Harvey, LA. Hazel was a graduate of L.B. Landry High School Class of 1961. “Ann”, as she was affectionately known to family and friends was a retired employee of the Jefferson Parish Finance Department Food Stamp Division. She was dedicated member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Harvey, LA, for 63 years, she later moved her membership to St. Mark Baptist Church, in Gretna, LA, where she served as a Deaconess, a member of the Pastor's Support Club, and as mother of the church. Daughter of the late Rev. Ernest Sr. and Beulah Gasper Roussell. Devoted sister of Hilton, Sr. (Annette), Joel (Patricia) Roussell, Sr., and the late Leona R. (Morris, Sr.) Williams, Mable R. (William, Jr.) Patterson, Vada Roussell, Ernest, Jr. (Claudette), Owen (Valerie), Dewey B., Rev. Harold, Sr. (Azalea), and Glenn, Sr. (Debra) Roussell, Sr. Godmother of Dwayne Edinburgh, Katrice Jones-Morgan, Tarence Davis, Tiffany Thompson-Agbomeji, Jeremy George, Ryan Roussell, and the late Mark Patterson; also survived by her devoted caregivers, nephew and nieces: Owen McPherson, Ira Wilson, Vanessa Frederick, Dawn Byes, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Mark Baptist Church, Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church, and Israel Baptist Church are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Israel Baptist Church, 1612 Esther Street, Harvey, LA on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Darrell McKinnies, host pastor; Rev. Dr. Joseph L. Hampton, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time. Interment: Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery-Harvey, LA.
