Harold Irvin Jason, age 86, entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. He was a native of Ironton, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA. Harold retired from Coca-Cola in 1993, after more than 30 years of dedicated service. He was known for his strong works ethic, warn spirit, and unwavering love for music. As a young man, Harold pursued his passion as a vocalist, traveling with a band throughout the Southern United States and Internationally. Music was one of the greatest joys of his life, and in later years he became affectionally known as “Happy DJ.” He had a remarkable gift for bringing people together through music. His infectious smile, vibrant personality, and love for making others happy has left a lasting impression on everyone who know him. Loving father of Angel V. Johnson, Sandra Johnson (Dwayne) Coleman, Harold C. Williams, Perry J. Jason. Rose (Curley) Grady, Diane Williams, John W. Williams, Cheryl Johnson, Karen Hampton, Beverly Johnson, and the late Frank Johnson and Darlene Johnson. Son of the late Kermis Jason, Sr. and Ida Spriggs Jason Williams. Devoted brother of Dorthy Nevels and the late Kermis Jason, Jr., Charles Jason, Sr. Gerald Jason, Sr., Daniel Spriggs, Jaynell Jason Lucas, Hilda Jason Moliere, and Janet Calvin. Harold is also survived by his longtime companion Caroline Taylor, her children, Angela Taylor, Gwendolyn Taylor, Elaine Taylor, Tiffany Taylor, and a host of cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his former wife Willie Mae Jason, and Caroline’s children Wendy Taylor and Lionel Taylor. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe Street, Gretna, LA on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time.
