GLORIA GEASON SIMMONS

Gloria Geason Simmons, age 86, entered into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. She was a native of Ama, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Gloria was a graduate of Carver High School in Hahnville, LA. She was a retired school bus driver (Bus #280) with the Jefferson Parish Public School System. Beloved wife of the late James P. Simmons, Sr. Loving mother of Gilbert J. Simmons; stepmother of James P. Simmons, Jr. and the late Wanda Simmons. Daughter of the late Milton Geason, Sr. and Fannie Johnson. Sister of the late Theresa Stiebs, Dorothy Hensley, Shirley Geason, Charles Smith, Sr., Lawrence, Milton, Alex, and Percy Geason. Gloria is also survived by her caregivers, Lois Hensley, Patricia Geason Rose, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
