GLORIA DEAN BROWN SHEPHARD

Gloria Dean Brown Shephard entered into eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center Jefferson Highway on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the age of 76. She was a native of Baton Rouge, LA and a longtime resident of New Orleans, LA. Gloria was employed as a domestic worker, and she was known for her extraordinary cooking and baking. She was an avid New Orleans Saints fan, and enjoyed music, dancing, and spending time with her family. Devoted wife of the late Hardy Shephard. Beloved mother of Mona Lisa Hickman, Debra Shephard Dyson, Hollis (Rebecca) Shephard, Jr., Roy Russell (Shawanda) Shephard, Chad Irving (Shantell) Shephard, and Susan Ann Shephard. Grandmother of the late Mark Shephard. Daughter of the late Jessie and Zeola Brown. Granddaughter of the late Adie Profit and Bessie Drummonds. Sister of Benjamin Brown, Bessie Mae Wilson, Leola Green all of Baton Rouge, LA, and the late James Williams, Leo Thomas, Loreatha Anderson, Jessie Mae Harris Holiday, Linda Brown, Annie Bell Johnson, and Rose Brown. Mother in law of the late Standish Dyson, Jr. also survived by 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Viewing of Remains at Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 5:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. Funeral Services will be held at The Church of Christ 1414 N. 32nd St. Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. at the above named church.
