GLADYS JOHNSON ARMAND

Gladys Johnson Armand transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the age of 94. She was a native of Edgard, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. She was a proud member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church for over 70 years where she served faithfully. Gladys was a retired beautician. Beloved wife of the late James K. Armand, Sr. Loving mother of Gwynn A. Jackson, Angela (Warren) Sylvas, and the late James K. Armand, Jr., and Lynn A. Major. Grandmother of the late Kedar, Kenaz, and Kimberly Armand. Daughter of the late Wimberly and Esther Johnson. Sister of Shirley Coburn, Alice Borne, Lucien Johnson, and the late Clarence, Walton, Wilfred, Herbert, Wimberly, and Clara Johnson, Mildred Butler, and Wilberine Harang. Mother in law of Silva Armand and Willie Major, also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. 

Relatives and friends of the family, also priests and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and neighboring churches; members of the Knights of Peter Claver St. Rita Court #36 and Knights of Peter Claver Court #267; employees of  Wal Mart #2706 are all invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday April 15, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Reverend Sidney Speaks, III, officiating. Visitation begins at 8:00a.m., Recitation of the Rosary at 8:45a.m., followed by Knights of Peter Claver Ritual and Tribute of life. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
