GIL MUSE

Gil Muse, a retired merchant seaman, entered into eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the age of 73. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Gil was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergent and received the National Defense Service Medal. Gil was a faithful member of True Love Full Gospel Ministry and Gilbert Lodge #6. Beloved husband of Joanas Scott Muse. Devoted father of Gil Muse, Kelvin (ZaKiya) Muse, Fatima Muse, and Sauda (Travis) Moore. Bonus father of Julia (The Governor) Green, Frederick (LuAnn) Scott, and Sterling Green. Son of the late Oscar Muse and Leona Muse. Loving brother of Oscar Muse, Monica Lynn Muse, and Simone Muse. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and 1niece. Gil is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Viewing at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Celebration of Life will be held at the above named parlor on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 11:00a.m. Elder Thomas J. Cole, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time.
