GERARD EDWARD WALKER, SR.

Gerard Edward Walker, Sr., age 60, departed this life at his residence on Thursday, June 11, 2026. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Gerard was a graduate of West Jefferson High School and continued his studies at Seafarers Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship in Piney Point, MD. He was a dedicated professional who worked as a Health and Safety Contractor with Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP) and Consultant for Engineering and Inspection Services (EIS). He took great pride in his work and was deeply respected for his commitment and service to the oil industry. Gerard was known for being the life of the party and always keeping everyone around him full of laughter. Beloved husband of 33 years to BeTrice Hudson Walker. Devoted father of Raven Walker, Gerard Walker II, and Courtland Walker. Cherished grandfather of Gerard III, Rylie, Gervon, Geveah, and Rhiyan. Loving son of Anna Louise Walker and the late Prentiss Walker. Stepson of Carolyn Walker. Grandson of the late Beatrice Walker Williams, Moses Davis, and Annie S. Davis. Brother of Adrien (Damara) Blue, Cedric Walker, Randall (Shawn) Wright, Angela Walker, and the late Prentiss Davis Walker. Godfather of Christina Umoren, Kirbye (Sean) Smith, Kyra (Darius) Brown, Kelly (Tyheim) Monroe, and Brendan Dilllon. Brother-in-law of Brian Isaac, Dedra Brown, and Trinica Wells. Gerard is also survived by his lifelong best friend Kenneth Bush and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe Street, Gretna, LA on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
