GERALDINE JONES MILES

Geraldine “Dean” Jones Miles peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the age of 77. She was a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Geraldine was a retired 1^st class welder at Avondale Shipyard where she was known as the Queen of Welding. Loving mother of Vivian Miles, Vera (Darrell) Young, Theodore Miles, Jr., and the late Terry Miles. Grandmother of the late Theo Miles. Beloved daughter of the late Melvin Jones, Sr., and Ruth Hazet. Sister of Florastine Jenkins, and the late Melvin Jones, Jr., and Margaret Houston. Geraldine is also survived by her devoted family members, Lanika, Orlando, Tedra, and Jarred, 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Zion Baptist Church, Rock of Ages Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches; employees of Jefferson Drainage Department, Wal-Mart #1163, and Chateau of Notre Dame are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L.B. Landry Ave., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Norman N. Francis, host pastor; Pastor James N. Brown, officiating.
