Geraldine Johnson Batiste, age 83, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, September 17, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Napoleonville, La and a resident of Avondale, LA. She was a retired cook of East Jefferson General Hospital, and a former employee of Jefferson Parish Public Schools. Geraldine was a member of Avondale Golden Steppers. Beloved wife of the late Sam Batiste. Loving mother of Sam, Cynthia, Claudette, and Gregory Batiste, and LeaAnn Huskey. Daughter of the late Alice K. Harris. Sister of Clarence Harris, Lionel Harris, Jerrol Harris, Thomas Kennedy, Nellie Mae Hill, and the late Janice Harris, Barbara Harris, Alvin Harris, and Joyce Kennedy. Geraldine is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time.Interment: Wil be Private.
