GEORGIANA GAINES

Georgiana Gaines entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the age of 85. She was a native of St. Martinville, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Georgiana was a proud graduate of Carver High School Class of 1957. She was employed as a dedicated Nursing Assistant, serving her community with compassion for over 30 years before retiring. Throughout her life, she touched countless lives with her care, love and guidance. Loving mother of Clifford Lewis, Charles Gaines, Floyd Gaines, Rochelle Gaines, and the late Willis Gaines III, Alicia M. Brooks, and Claudia Mae Gaines-Harris. Beloved daughter of the late Samuel Bazile and Enola Charles Bazile. Sister of Joseph Bazile, Samuel Bazile, Michael Bazile, Eula Bazile, and the late Wilfred Bazile, Charles Bazile, Eldora Bazile, Delores Bazile, Josephine Bazile, and Agnes Bazile Littleton. Mother-in-law of Janice Lewis, Patricia Gaines and Cydalise Gaines, and the late Mark Favorite, Sr. Sister-in-law of the late Virgie Bazile. Also cherishing her memories are 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Second Nazarene Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Second Nazarene Baptist Church, 3062 Boyd Street, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Peter L.
