GEORGE JOHNSON

George Johnson passed away at his residence on Monday, January 25, 2021 at the age of 77 surrounded by his 3 daughters and primary care givers and his niece Lana Riggins.  He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. George was aa Bus Driver with Orleans Parish School for over 25 years and retired in 2005. He loved talking to people about Jehovah God, his family, and anything else. He also loved traveling, helping others, encouraging those who were down, visiting the sick and reciting poems. Husband of the late Beatrice Johnson for 47 years.  Father of Sonda, Monica, and Reshelle Johnson. Son of the later Agnes Joseph. Stepson of the late Harry Young. Brother of Omar (Martha) Sabree, Linda Birden, Donna (Leroy) Thomas, Harriet Jones, Harry (Vera) Young, and the late Murphy Johnson, and Allen Young. Stepbrother of Hester Williams, and Elizabeth “Ann” Grinstead. Great nephew of the late Irene Hagens. Brother in law of Edward (Brenda) Riggins, Elizabeth Johnson, Rosemary Johnson, Olivia (Lionel) Trim, and Edward (Martha) Johnson, also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to acknowledge a special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice. Interment Will be private and a memorial discourse service will be held at a later date.
