GENEITA MURCELLA JONES

Geneita Murcella Jones entered peacefully into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Monday, July 10, 2023, at the age of 43. She was a native of Marrero, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Geneita was a graduate of West Jefferson High School. She was employed as a hotel housekeeper and as an interior decorator. Beloved mother of Danita A. Jones, Michael L. Jones, Jonnell K. Jones, Paris S. Ruffin, Poetry M. Lewis, and the late Sky Paris Ruffin. Loving grandmother of Tayaun N. Brim, Jarrell M. Marshall, King K. Jones, and Kaiser K. Jones. Daughter of Charleston R. Jackson and the late Darlene Jones Millsaps. Stepdaughter of Sharolyn Clay-Jackson. Granddaughter of the late Rev. Paul Jones, Sr., Geneva R. Jones, Welton Jackson, and Juanita Jackson. Sister of Veneita M. Jackson, Jamaal E. Jackson, and Kamaal W. Jackson. Niece of Dorothy Reed, Ida (Author) Domino, Paulette (Adolph) Smith, Myrtle Jackson, Paul Clair, Patrick (Dianne) Jones, and Dr. Keithen Jones. Great niece of Mary Collins of Sacramento, CA, Ophelia Smith, Walter Jones of Crosby, MS, and Charles Jackson.  Goddaughter of Rosie Grear, Matthew Nellon and the late Elder Elias Jones. Godmother of Janee Paul; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family and members of Dolls Squad and WeR1 are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Samuel Travis, of Greater Zionfield Family Worship Center, officiating.
